Chapter Thirteen

Matty seemed to bounce from one emotion to another. He was hard to keep up with. I got he wasn’t good at always asking for what he wanted when it came to important things so I considered my actions carefully. In the car, I sensed that he was ready to move ahead with the more intimate side of our relationship, right up until he got offered the room to do with as he wanted. I never considered deterring Matty from his mission to find things for the playroom instead of what I’d originally planned when we’d kissed in the car. The wonder that shone brighter than any star in the night sky, when he’d gotten the room was his to do with as he pleased, would combat any need to keep that look on his face.

When he finally wiggled down my body, causing me to swallow a groan at his pert ass doing a number on my cock, I’d let him drag me out of the room, chatting ten to the dozen. “What shops should we go to first? There are lots around this part of town. I’m sure there are. We need a big toy shop and a furniture store. But we need one that will have things I like. I can be very picky.” He grinned, not seeming in the least bit concerned about his confession as I reset the alarm to exit the apartment.

He waited until we were back in the elevator before he resumed with the excited questioning. “I need to check my bank account, see how much I have to spend.” His brow furrowed for a split second, then smoothed out. “I’ve been good of late, so I should have enough to get some nice things. Do you think they’ll have furniture with fox designs on them? I’ve seen some on different websites.”

“There’s a furniture store I’ve used before, Room & Board, directly down East Ohio Street about six minutes’ walk from here. They have many things you might like to look at.” I recalled the bed that was like a small wooden house that was cute. I could see him in there with me reading him a story, but I’d go with whatever he wanted. “Fox designs, though? If you have something specific you want, it might require more of a wide search to get it.” I pointed out, unsure right now he’d be patient enough with how excited he was. “And I think we need to discuss money before we get to the shop.”

I directed him out of the front of the building, just offering a wave at the person staffing the main reception as we passed, making a mental note to introduce Matty to them so they’d know not to stop him from coming into the building.

His feet dragged a little as I slowed down when we hit the street. “I’ve got money, Daddy.”

Hints of uncertainty were easy to pick up as he brought his thumb up to his lips, looking at it for a second before chewing on the nail.
